June 2008 Flotilla Opportunities
June 14-20, 2008: San Juan Islands Flotilla Join Tim Hoving in exploring the parks, villages, resorts and quiet anchorages of the San Juan Islands. Ports of call will be open to group consensus but will likely include Sucia and/or Matia Islands, Stuart Island, Roche Harbor, Friday Harbor, Rosario, and Cypress Island.
June 21-27, 2008: Gulf Islands Flotilla Roger Van Dyken will lead you directly to Bedwell Harbor on South Pender Island to clear customs into the Canadian Gulf Islands. Enjoy destinations throughout the Gulf Islands such as the beautiful Poet's Cove Resort, unique Ganges Harbor, serene Telegraph Cove, protected Silva Bay, and lively Maple Bay. Day to day itinerary will be open to group preferences.
Two-Week Option: Is one week not long enough? Just so you know, you have the option of doing both flotillas. Rather than having you return to the dock in Bellingham between the two weeks, we'll give you a few ideas of places to anchor or dock on Friday night. And set up a rendezvous about noon on Saturday (near Sucia) where you'll meet up with the rest of the flotilla on their way to Canada. Benefits of Flotilla Cruising: There are many benefits to exploring the islands in a flotilla setting. For those venturing into unfamiliar waters, flotilla cruising offers the security of an experienced guide with local knowledge. For everyone, including those already familiar with the cruising grounds, flotilla cruising offers you camaraderie, fun, special get-togethers, and a cruising experience enriched by naturalist insights, historical knowledge, and local perspective. You may even discover a new favorite village or quiet anchorage! Flotilla Fee: In addition to your charter rate and insurance there is a $250 flotilla fee per boat, per week. |
